Scenes

Individual scenes from across the canon — ideal for classroom projects.

A single Shakespeare scene — done well, in the original language — is a complete DT:FC experience. Scenes carry the dramatic architecture that novice Players need to feel the play breathe; they are short enough to rehearse deeply and structured enough that the ensemble stays fully cast throughout.

See Alternative One of the Alternatives essay for the full framing, including the “string of beads” variant and the Colorado Will Power story.

DT:FC 2-3 Person Scenes

Every DT:FC scene is wrapped in a pedagogical shell: chance-cast from a hat, pronunciation guides, reflection questions, and a shared evaluation ritual. The wrapper is the product.

“My students are rocking it.”
— Linda Nenno, Texas State University

Looking for the Mechanicals arc? It’s filed under Children’s Shakespeare — the same scenes work as a string-of-beads example and as young Players’ first Shakespeare.

Scenes library

Individual scenes drawn from across Shakespeare’s plays. Great for classroom groups working on one arc in depth.
