ICONs
The visual symbols used across DT:FC to name the small essential concepts of the work — a picture, a name, and a definition together.
What an ICON is
An ICON is one of the small visual symbols used across the DT:FC site to mark a concept that matters. Each ICON pairs a picture, a name, and a short definition — a landing spot for a term the work relies on.
How ICONs are used
Wherever an ICON name appears in the copy — for example, How bonded a group is right now — the action or fact of forming a united whole. Every game is rated Low, Medium, or High — matching game to group cohesion is the facilitator’s core skill. The ability to recover from or adjust quickly to change, difficulty, or adversity. In DT:FC, resilience means replacing 'failure' with 'learning' — and getting up to explore a different direction. Cohesion

Why ICONs exist
Developmental Theatre uses a specific vocabulary — words like cohesion, resilience, warmup, facilitation — that don’t always mean what a newcomer expects. Rather than defining them once and hoping readers remember, ICONs let a definition travel with the term: every time you see one, the definition is a click away.
Where you’ll see them
- On every game page, marking the game’s competency, cohesion, and other properties.
- In the Theatre Games landing copy, wherever a term is introduced.
- On section landing pages when a key concept is named.
- In the alphabetical concept list on this page.
